History
CNP Technologies was started in 1995 as Computer Network Power with a focus on quality on-site service and an expertise in thin client computing. Core qualities such as responsiveness, attention to detail and professional service allowed Computer Network Power to grow steadily in the Charlotte and surrounding area. In 1999, Computer Network Power merged with Learning Station.com; an ASP specializing in applications for the K-12 education market. Computer Network Power provided Learningstation.com the necessary thin client expertise (Citrix) used to deliver the applications to the desktop of the students.
In early 2000, Computer Network Power was sold to Wesley Clark and John Garrett; enabling Learningstation.com to focus on their ASP business and allow John and Wes to focus on the network integration side of the business. The two were motivated to continue the same high level of support while steadily adding to the customer base and to their product and services offerings.
The company continued to excel and expand under the direction of John and Wes and in 2004 Computer Network Power officially became CNP Technologies. Since then, CNP has opened additional offices in Atlanta, GA and Parkersburg, WV to service their growing clientele market.
Today the company employs over 40 people with specializations in IP Telephony and Security. Network support services have been enhanced with utilities for remote monitoring. CNP also utilizes terminal services and desktop streaming tools for remote support.
Many businesses realize that technology support personnel require special training and tools to maintain the ever changing needs of the users and the company network. CNP can provide an engineer at your workplace on a fulltime or part time basis. This resource has the whole CNP team behind him for advanced services or just another set of eyes.
In 2002 CNP became one of the first ten resellers for Shoreline VOIP telephone systems (now ShoreTel). CNP has remained in the Top 10 of ShoreTel resellers since the manufacturer changed from a direct sales organization to a channel distribution model, and in 2007 CNP earned distinction as the number One ShoreTel reseller – worldwide amongst over 500 ShoreTel resellers. CNP now supports over 150 different enterprises that have ShoreTel installed; accounting for approximately 15,000 handsets.
